Organic Agriculture: Opportunity for Mexican Producers
Organic farming is one of the most developed commercial sectors in Mexico, as the country ranks 18th among the world’s top organic food producers. Moreover, Mexico is the leading exporter of organic coffee.
The development potential for this type of product, both for domestic consumption and export, is prompting Mexican producers to recognize the importance of adapting their farms to meet the demands of new production standards. This has led to a significant increase in greenhouse cultivation, with a particularly notable rise in multi-tunnel structures across various states in the central and northern regions of the country.
For over five years, IEP Invernaderos has been working in Mexico to support local producers in modernizing their facilities. As a result of this effort, several multi-tunnel greenhouses for vegetable production have been built in the states of Guanajuato, Querétaro, Jalisco, and Coahuila.
